Hello CSS families,
We hope you are thoroughly enjoying your summer but are secretly excited about the return to classes on September 6th!
We want to provide you with some initial information regarding our school start up. Please review this information carefully as it will inform you of the process and procedures we have in place to support students and families in the transition back to school. This includes details regarding supplies, lockers, and timetables. Please note that we have split Grade 8 locker day into two groups based on the first letter of the last name due to the size of the group.

Important Notice!
For all students in Grades 9-12 please note that you will not be allowed to get a locker until all outstanding dues/overdue books/textbooks are paid or returned. There will be no exceptions. If you have a library/textbook missing you will need to pay for its replacement cost and if you find or return it later you will be reimbursed. Students can pay with cash, cheque, debit, credit or Apple pay.
School Supplies
A reminder that SD46 provides students with school supplies. We have not decided yet on our process for distribution but students will have all their supplies for the first full day of school. We do not provide students with backpacks. All Grade 8 students will have received a Chatelech t-shirt and those students who did not will get them in the first week.
Timetables
All grade 10-12 students will receive their timetables during their locker selection process. Students are only allowed to pick up their own timetable. Mr. Smith will be available to meet with students to discuss scheduling in Grade 11-12 starting Tuesday, August 30; however, priority will be given to Grade 12 students and will be set on a sign-up basis. Mr. Smith will not make changes over the phone and it is important that students, not parents, engage in the course change process as it allows him the opportunity to connect with students upon their return to class. Once Grade 12’s have had an opportunity to meet with him, Mr. Smith will address the Grade 11 concerns and then the Grade 10’s. Ms. Pierce will be working with Grade 8/9 concerns in the following week. At this time we are anticipating providing Grade 8 and 9 students with their timetables during the homeroom period on Tuesday, Sept. 6th.
We are anticipating a wonderful start to our 2022-2023 academic year. We have a number of new, enthusiastic staff joining the CSS team and they, along with our savvy vets, are looking forward to making connections with your child and supporting them in their learning. Our office staff will be back in the building on August 29th and will be able to answer your calls or questions at that time.
We will send out more information in the coming weeks but wanted to give you advance notice so that working students can make plans to book off for their locker selection.
